November 8, 2016-Fernandina Beach to Jacksonville Beach

November 8, 2016
It is Election Day in America!

It was so nice to do all our laundry last night and then relaxed.  Can't believe we are in Florida although we still have a while before we are united with our grand children in West Palm Beach.

This is the first time we really had to deal with tides.  Because of the 6 ft tide, our boat keel was sitting in 1 foot into the mud. We had to wait 2 hr before high tide before we could leave.
Steve and I took advantage of this time to clean the inside and outside of the boat.mmhe managed to remove the boat's "moustache "'caused by water discolouration.  It felt good to have everything tidy up again.

12:15- Left Amelia Island Marina(Fernandina Beach at mile 720 heading to Palm Cove Marina (Jacksonville) at mile 747 before it gets dark.

South of the ICW with the Fort River, the ICW route runs a straightforward path through Sisters Creek to the St Johns River.
2:35pm- we just went under the new Sisters Creek Bridge at mile 739.2
Lots of commercial traffic and construction going on along here.

2:50pm- went under Pablo creek Bridge while Steve and I enjoyed our cup of tea with cookies.
3:00pm- saw two fighter jets fly over as we motored in the Pablo creek.
3:10- We went under another bridge and notice more damage from the hurricane

4:00pm- Arrived at Palm Cove marina and we covered 22.40 miles today.
6:30pm_ We went out to Marker 32 Restaurant.  It was nice to get dress up  and enjoy a wonderful meal
