November 3, 2016-Mosquito Creek

Hi Y'all
Didn't leave this morning until 8:15am.  There is such a heavy dew this morning. Gorgeous morning.
8:55am-  Will we make the Ben Sawyer bridge for 9:00am.  Steve is raven the engine up...

9:00am- yeah! We made it.
As you cross the bridge, the Tolers Cove marina veered to the right .  You can see the big city of Charleston, SC in the distance.

It was so cool.  A dolphin jumped right in front of our boat as we were motoring by Charleston City marina. Guess he was greeting us.
10:00am- Once you pass the marina, you have to go under the James Island Expressway Bridge . (67 ft high) and then you have to call Wappoo Creek Bascule Bridge at mile 470 for an opening.  The next opening is 10:30...so we wait.

Once you cross the bridge, you go thru a channel for a short distance which has really strong currents until you enter the Stone River.
1:00pm- At mile 490, we went by Yonges Island, a commercial hauling and repair facility.
I noticed a lot of Monarch butterflies flying across our boat while moving throughout South Carolina.

2:45pm- just going under the McKinley Washington Jr Bridge

4:00pm- Arrived at our anchorage on Ashepoo River on Mosquito Creek.  Today we covered 50.58 miles.

6:00pm- As I was making dinner, we watched the shrimp boat go by.
Steve did some fishing but no luck tonight

Steve caught a crab but once he tried getting on the boat, the crab released.  He used bacon.
Another good day!
