November 12, 2016- Smyrma Beach to Melbourne

6:30- As I pressed the coffee button this morning, I woke up to this beautiful sky. What a great way to start the day.  Heading further South today.
7:40am- Left New Smyrna Beach Marina and was already greeted by dolphins as we were leaving.
On the Mosquito Lagoon on ICW mile 855 to mile 870  there is a lot of marine activity.
8:45am-  we just saw our first Manatee. There are all kinds of sign stating to slow down since it is a Manatee zone.  We are now spotting them floating up everywhere.  They only surface briefly.
From a distance, we can actually see the Kennedy Space Center where they launch shuttles.

10:15am- went across the Allenhurst Bridge at mile 869..  Lots of fisherman along here.

A straight dredged channel extends from Haulover Canal's western mouth across the flats of the upper Indian River at ICW mile 869.5 to mile 877.

11:15am-The NASA Railroad Bascule Bridge at Kennedy Space Center crosses the ICW at mile 876.6.  The bridge remains opened unless a train approaches.

Then we go under the Titusville Bridge.  So many bridges.

In Cape Canaveral area at ICW mile 878 to mile 943, the water divides around Merritt Island, forming Indian River  on the mainland side and Banana River on the East side.

Two miles south of NASA  Railway bridge is another bridge called Max Brewer at mile 878.9. At mile 885, we have to request NASA Causeway Bridge to open.
1:46pm- Just before arriving at Merritt Island Bridge in Cocoa we passed a Riverboat at miles 897.4.
Good thing Steve can whistle.  He had to whistle at these  guys who where working on the bridge because we would have never cleared the crane.  They naturally moved once they saw us.

2:00pm- We observed a large motor boat which the rear sunk and the police were on board.  At the same time, another huge boat headed straight for us and created huge waves.  Steve showed he was displeased and this a£££hole even gave us the finger.  Unbelievable! Itis unfortunate that the police didn't see him.

4:00pm- we went under another series of bridge at mile 910 at Pineda Causeway Bridge followed by Eau Gallie Bridge at mile 914.
4:30pm- We went under the Melbourne Twin bridges at mile 918.2

5:00pm- Fueled up at Melbourne Harbor Marina before anchoring near the Melbourne Twin Bridges. Today we covered 72.5 miles.
Good thing I made a quiche earlier.  Now we can have dinner.
As the sun was setting and the moon was glowing over the water, Steve did a little fishing.

Looking at Melbourne from our anchorage.

The moon shining is on the water.  Such a lovely night.
