Hutchinson Island at mile 965 to mile 980 stretches 22 miles between Fort Pierce Inlet and St Lucie Inlet, on the ocean(east) side of the ICW. We are getting a great push from the tides. In some ways, the tides save us on fuel.
8:45am- At mile 975, we went by the St. Lucie Power plant which stands on Herman Bay Point at Big Mud creek, on the east side of Indian River.
11:00am- We went thru another series of bridges. At mile 981, the Jensen Beach Causeway Bridge and the Ernest Lyons Bridge at mile 984.9 at Seawalls Point.
We also came across a dredger boat..11:45am- as I was down below making meatloaf muffins, Steve requested to go under the Hobe Sound Railway bridge
Very beautiful. There are grand mansions and manicured lawns along the eastern shore. The Jove Indians, whose name the Spanish pronounced "Ho-bay", gave Hobe Sounds its name.
And he loves eating them more.
We arrived at Jupiter at ICW 1002 and crossed the Jupiter Island bridge at mile 1004.12:30- At mile 1004, we just went by Jupiter Marina
Shortly after we had to request 707 Bridge to open.
1:00pm- We made it just in time for the 1:00pm Indiantown Road bridge. Love it when we time it perfect.
1:30pm- We also timed it perfect for the Donald Ross bridge which opens on the hour and 1/2 hr at mile 1009.2.
2:00pm- we made the PGA bridge opening and then passed a cute little patioA mile 1013. we crossed the Parker Bridge for the 2:15 pending. This bridge opens on the quarter and three-quarter.
3:00pm- Arrived at Riviera Beach at mile 1018, we will be staying at Riviera Beach Marina.
We covered 42.78 miles today.
4;30pm- Dwayne came to see us for a couple of hours. Steve has been communicating with him and he has been helpful all the way here.
After Dwayne left, we heated up my meatloaf muffins and had a salad. Tomorrow is a big day. We are going to be united with Nicky, Brent and our grandchildren, Lyla and Parker.
1:00am- We couldn't see the full moon earlier because of the clouds. Now I look up our mast and I see it peeping out however it is drizzling. Back to bed I go.
