October 7 & 8, 2016-Annapolis

October 7, 2017
This morning I woke up anxiously wondering how my daughter and family made out during hurricane Matthews.  Thankfully, they were spared.  Nicky sent me a photo of her daughter pointed at their pool with minimum amount of debris.  Now I can relax.
We are planning on staying in Annapolis on the mooring for another week.
12:00pm- Steve is a happy boater today.  His friend, Marc, asked him to go fishing.  So off they went.

Meanwhile, I received a text from Cate and Stephen saying they drove all the way from Fifty Point to the Annapolis  boat show.  While Stephen did some shopping at the boat show, Cate and I met up for lunch.  The waitress had her try out their Charm City Meadow works Elderberry beer which ended up being good.
The soup was delicious.  Cate introduced me to a lot of local stores since she comes every year.  There are some pretty unique shops in town.  She even brought me into an art gallery seeing that she is an artist herself. Very interesting. Thanks Cate for the tour.

It was nice to get together for the afternoon.  We met up with Stephen at 4:15pm and they walked me to my dinghy.  Back to GaYa I went.

4:30pm- after practicing on my ukulele, I decided to go kayaking until Steve got bank from fishing.
5:30pm- as I was kayaking, I saw Steve and Marc coming in.  Of course, they caught a fish however it got off the hook.  Steve enjoyed his day out with Marc.
6:00pm- Enjoyed a lovely dinner and relaxed on the boat with a glass of wine.  Love seeing all the lights at the boat show at night from our boat. Lots of partying going on.  What a lovely night.

October 8, 2016
Looks like we are going to have a bit of rain today.  As I was having my breakfast this morning, I could hear drumming in the distance.  I looked up and saw a Dragon Boat practicing.  Right away I thought of my friend Kim who races them and I sent her a video.
10:00- Took our dinghy and met up with Cate and Stephen Baldwin, our boater neighbors and friends at Fifty Point.  They were nice to pick us up in their car and we went shopping at Bacon Sails and Marine supply store where we bought all kinds of neat stuff.  We then went to Fawcetts Marine and West Marine.  It was fun!  I even bought fabric to make sail bag purses.
Cate, Stephen and Steve all chipped in buying things.  Cate is a good sales person.
We even found an employee named Steve who could pass as his brother.
Ironically, Al and Laurie Pollard from Fifty Point were also at the same shops.  There boat is at a different place than ours.
2:00- We all had lunch at Chick and Ruth's Delly.  Steve tried out a beer called Raging Bitch.
Cate and Stephen had their famous Cornbeef sandwich while Steve and I had crab soup and shared a crab sandwich.  Now we are full. So filling.

After lunch we walked around a few shops.  Cate and Stephen were smart enough to purchase an umbrella and then walked us to our dinghy.
Stephen was kind enough to lend us his waterproof bag so we can bring all our goodies to the boat in the rain.
7:00pm- We drove our dinghy to Chart House since Marc was picking us up to meet some of Steve's old friend at Jimmy Cantler's restaurant.  Before Marc showed up, the sunset was spectacular. It was almost like an art piece.

You could order shelled crab abnd they provided you with tools to crack them open.  So funny.

I got squirted while taking a photo of this couple, cracking the shells.

Marc, Karen, Bill and Patty showed us a good time.
They ordered long neck clams which I have never seen before.
Of course Steve ate them.  I couldn't go there.

Some would purchase a souvenir crab hat.

Had a great evening.  Came back to the boat around 19:00pm.  At least the rain stopped.
