October 3 & 4, 2016- Annapolis

October 3, 2016
Sunny day today!  Steve and I got entertained by all the prep work which goes into the Annapolis boat show.  It looked like they were even towing a floating boat trailer.
10:00am-  We drove around in our dinghy to scope out all the gorgeous boats. We then decided to go explore all the State buildings in town.  We then ate clam chowder soup on a patio at Middleton's.
1:30pm- We rested when we got back to the boat .....you know ...it is a hard lifestyle.
Later while I calculated all our expenses for September  and put it in an excel spreadsheet, Steve tested out the Honda generator to ensure it works properly before going to the Caribbean.
A trimaran went by us named: "Hot Chocolate". Thought that was an interesting name.  Makes me want a hot chocolate.  Good thing it isn't cold out.
5:30pm- We just had Natalie's homemade stew which she gave me yesterday during her visit.  It was so good Steve even had seconds.  Thank you Natalie.

Another sunny day however it sounds like they will be limited in the next couple of days.  The big talk around here is about hurricane Matthew and were he plans on going.  Sue and Larry from boat "Serengeti" dropped by on their dinghy to discuss the matter.  They are very seasoned sailors who live on their boat but their home is based in Marathon, Florida.  They will wait as the weather progresses to move in a safe zone if necessary. They said they have seen hurricanes move at the last minute to their favor.  We just might follow them.  They have an area to go anchor where you are more protected.
We are safe on a mooring however all the new boats for the boat show are on temporary mooring and the dock master has no idea whether the docks would hold to the high winds.  We surely wouldn't want all those big boats and docks banging against us.
Nicky, my daughter who lives in Florida, is also in the hurricane zone and just got hurricane watch warning.  They will have to put up their hurricane shutters and prepare for the worse. They are predicting the hurricane will hit them Thursday morning.  Guess time will tell.
In the meantime, they are bringing in all the boats and setting up for the boat show.  Wi-Fi today is not fast but I will keep updates as much as I can.
12:00pm- After we had a bite to eat, Steve and I took the dinghy to shore to go take a shower.
After we got back to the boat, we realized we needed a pump out but didn't want to leave our mooring since someone would snatch it in a second.  It is a prime mooring.
They have a great service.  You call the pump out harbormaster and they come right to your boat for the service.  They only charge $5 / head.  What a great idea!

5:00pm- started preparing dinner.  Can't believe I still have carrots and potatoes from picking them from my garden 5 weeks ago.  Good thing I went on line to find out how to preserve them while on the boat.  Trying to still eat healthy.
5:30pm- On the menu tonight is barbecued shishkabob. Along with vegetables.

It was fun watching young kids getting their sailing lessons and going by our boat.
We even saw a huge boat go by and it belongs to the owner of the Baltimore Raven
9:00pm- Natalie and Michael lent us a bunch of CD's to watch since the TV reception hear sucks.
We watched "Big Fish". Didn't get to watch the VP presidential debate.
At least the other night we saw Alex Baldwin imitate Trump on SNL.  Too funny!
