October 28, 2016-NC- Oriental Harbor

October 28, 2016
8:00am- Left Dowry marina .

A little cloudy this morning however temperature are in the 60's.  Nice

Around 11:45pm, we started crossing the Neuse River. The reason I am mentioning this because it is the largest in the country.  Glad we picked a calm day to cross her since it is reported that  she can get pretty nasty depending on the winds.

1:00pm- Steve laughed when I told him I see a submarine.  Of course it was a barge.  I like to keep my imagination working.
2:30pm- Arrived at Oriental Harbor where we will stay for a night.  We covered 42.66 today.
I was surprised to see a fisherman with a gun as we came into the marina.

We were happy to know that we can borrow bicycles to go to do groceries in town. When we signed out the bikes, we noticed Laurie and Al Pollard from Fifty Point signed out bicycle also. We will have to see if they are still at the marina later.  The grocery and hardware store where approximately  1.5 miles away.  We did our groceries at Pigly Wigly.

6:00pm. After we unloaded the groceries, we went out for dinner at O Town at Oriental Harbour where we are staying.  We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the sun.
Later we went for a shower.
After our shower, we decided to go to the Tiki Hut for drinks.  Guess who we found.....Laurie and Al from Needful Things. We had a few drinks and caught up on our adventures
.
9;45pm_ Back to the boat to rest up for another day!
