The plan was to leave Annapolis early however, as usual the weather dictated otherwise. We were surrounded by fog and since we were not in any hurry and the fact that it was cool, we figure we would wait until the sun greeted us . Guess Annapolis doesn't want us to leave.
9:00am- Left Annapolis under beautiful sunny weather. Goodbye #32 mooring.
Once again as we are headed for the channel, we have to be on the lookout for crab pots. At least there are flags on them to let us know where they are.
We bought "Sport A Seat" chairs at the boatshow. Now I found another place to sit and be comfortable.
It is amazing how much cooler it gets on the water but no worries, I am 3 layered dressed and I do not care what a fashion designer thinks. This girl is staying warm. So happy that Natalie lent me her sweat pants. Thankfully, we are heading South and not North. As the day goes on though, I have to start taking off layers.
Steve was so excited about showing me the new downloads on our Navionics. Now we can see tides & current patterns. All kinds of information such as hotels, marinas etc. It only took him 4 hours to download.
We went by an oyster farm. Steve explained how they create a gated enclosure to grow oyster in shallow water.
2:30pm- Arrived at Dr. Jim Thompson home in Oxford. He is an old sailing friend of Steve.
He welcomed us to stay and use his dock. We probably will stay here for a couple of days.
Dr Jim greeted us at his dock
This is the view from Dr. Jim's home looking at our boat.
We went for a walk along the wooded property. Very beautiful.
What a gorgeous floating cement dock he has which also has power and water accommodations.

Oxford is lovely but if you have the time think about stopping at St. Michaels - really a quaint old town!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying the brief anecdotes and the amazing photos which you are taking the time to share with us. What wonderful experiences you are having. I especially enjoyed the part about your target shooting on Jim's boat. He sounds like an interesting character. You look so cute all bundled up! Have a great weekend, you two. XOX
