October 30, 2016-NC-South Harbor Village Marina

7:15am Left Hammock Anchorage.  The sunrise was behind us.  So beautiful.



Everything was in pink.  Even the washed up boat.

Love the different boat names

Went thru several swing bridges....Figure Eight and Surf City.  We lucked out on the timing

So many fishing either by boat or from land

 We couldn't figure out what was behind this boat

 Went by different marinas

No it is not Halloween yet ....In the morning, it is cool so I ensure to cover up....I am no fashion diva...

We were either with or against a current up to 2 knots all day and had to remain cautious of the depth.

Because of this working trawler, we were able to go thru the swing bridge earlier.  They open up every hour however they do open up for commercial vessels. 

See the yellow boat in this photo?  He has run aground. Karma???
 Earlier, he was in a hurry and wanted to pass us.  He forced us to go port side in the channel when suddenly the water was only 6 ft deep.  We need 5'6".  We slid back quickly and were OK after he slowly past us.  Two miles up the canal, we found him aground.  The bridge master advised to stay to stay tight to the red mark and he went tight to the green.  We slid by tight to the red smiling!  Is that wrong of us?

Sometimes, we were so close to the shoals.  We had to go slow.

We had a race with this vessel.  Guess who won?

Beautiful sunset at South Harbor Village Marina at mile 311.4. They were out of diesel and place us on a very bouncy mooring.  They even charged us for the extra length from the dinghy.  That is a first. We should have gone to St James Marina at mile 315.  We will have to go there in the morning for diesel.  At least we got our laundry done, pumped out and filled up with water.

As I walked down the dock, fisherman showed up with their catch of the day.  They were really happy
