6:30am- Anchoring at Mangrove Cay was a quiet serene area. In fact, it was so quiet that my ears were ringing. I never realized how noisy Florida was until we anchored in this remote area. No Wi-Fi, telephone connection or TV here either.
It was so dark at night that I saw thousands of new stars in the sky during the night. What a sight!
We enjoyed a gorgeous morning while sipping on our morning coffee, We could hear strange sounding birds coming from the Cay. Sounds we never heard of before. Or maybe it could be frogs. Who knows but it is exciting to hear and see new things.
One thing I noticed, is everything is damp until the sun dries it up.
9:00am- Raised our anchored and set sail to Little Sail Cay. Winds are only 6.4 at 120 degrees. We are only doing 3.5 knots. It is like sailing on a huge aquarium seeing that we are only in 10 ft deep water and we can see the bottom. So beautiful.
Interesting information: The Bahama Islands consist of 29 islands, 661 cays and 2387 rocks. The principal banks are Little Bahama Bank in the northwest Bahamas and Great Bahama Bank in the central Bahamas. The population of the island is 400,000 (2017). Abaco is located at the northern end of the island chain. It supposedly includes 2 islands, 82 cays and 208 rocks.
11:30am- Steve put his fishing line in the water and in a matter of 15 minutes, he caught a baby snook.
1:00pm- A small front approached us however it only brought rain for a couple of minutes. It was just enough to wash the salt off the boat. I told Steve he should have taken his bar of soap out also since we have to conserve our water.
Once we went around Carters Cays, it was a perfect sail to Fox Town. It was a little tricky getting onto the anchorage due to the rocky bar. We will stay anchored here for the night.
Then the sun peeped thru the clouds as to say "welcome".
Had a late dinner. I painted some cards while Steve read. Heavy rainstorm came around 9:00pm.
Went to bed early.
