January 19- 20, 2017- Treasured Cay

January 19, 2017
6:45am- Woke up this morning able to see the sun rising from the port hole while in bed.

9:00am- We went for a walk on the beach.

Went to do a bit of groceries however they did not have everything we needed.
11;30- Steve and I walked 45 minutes along the beach to go meet Terry and John at a special restaurant.  What a place.  It was like paradise.  Steve used the pool, we all had lunch and then listened to music.  So relaxing.

3:30pm- Came back to the boat to rest.
5:30pm-  They were having  a pizza special night at the marina so we all went for pizza and drinks.  They even had a live band and we danced for a while.
8:30pm- came back to the boat and watched more Sopranos.

6:45- Woke up to a gorgeous sunrise.  Later we will be heading out to Marsh Harbour.

8:30am-  While looking out in the water from the boat this morning, we saw 3 ft Tarpon fish go by us.  It is amazing how clear the water is.  It looks like an aquarium.

Steve figured he would cast a bit before leaving but no luck.
9:45- Fueled up and off we go to Marsh Harbor.
11:00am- What a beautiful sail to Marsh Harbor.  The wind was perfect.
Along the way, we saw some wrecks.
I dangled my feet over the bow while sailing and was amazed at how blue and clear the water is.

I made  a loaded baked potatoes & chicken casserole for dinner tonight while we were sailing.
Steve did some fishing while I enjoyed the wind in my hair.
1:45- Arrived at Marsh Harbor.  It is a lot more industrial than Treasure Cay.  Since we followed John & Terry, we wanted to go in town with them since they have been here many times.  John needed to go to a machine shop to have them make a shackle. Something that would have cost him $20 in Canada cost him $80 in the Bahamas but at least he was able to get it made.

John introduced us to Sherry Lee who was a taxi driver who knew them very well.
She took us to a DVD place.  This guy actually copies DVD . We purchased 5 of them for $20.  We were going to buy all the DVD's for Homeland Series but he wanted $85.  Steve figured we will wait until we return to  the US to purchase them.
We went to Maxwell which is a local grocery store.  We bought some provisions and returned back to the Union Jack dock where our dinghy was tied. We had to take separate taxi's since we had so many groceries.

7:00pm- Came back to the boat to have dinner.  Good thing I made the casserole earlier because we were starving.  We watched "The Light Between Oceans" movie and later Sopranos.
We plan to go to Hope Town tomorrow.
