November 22 -27, 2016 Riviera Beach

November 22, 2016
Today was a productive and fun day.  I sewed and made one folding bike bag with old sails while Steve went fishing.  He caught a small Jack but gave it to someone who wanted it.

Once he returned, I was ready for a break so we went on the dinghy and discovered a secluded beach.

Had to watch that our dinghy didn't get washed out by the high tides, so Steve put the anchor out for security.
What a gorgeous day!  After laying in the sun for an hour or so, we went exploring on the dinghy.  We went by the huge boats in West Palm Beach which had helicopters.
We then went by a boat which sunk during the hurricane.

Ok...now I have to get back and start on the second folding bike bag.

After dinner, we sat outside with our coffee, music and enjoyed the warm breeze.

Seeing that Lyla and Parker did not have school today, Steve and I woke up at 6:00am to go spend the day with them.  They were so excited when we arrived at their home.  After breakfast, we brought the kids to the park.  Lyla is getting more comfortable riding her bicycle without training wheels.  So cute.

After spending time at the park, we, of course, had to take them for ice cream.  Parker made sure to show us his blue tongue after eating ice cream called "Blue Moon".
Parker always like making these funny faces

And Lyla enjoyed her ice cream

It has been a long time since we have played " Old Maid" but Lyla reminded us how to play and win,
We left Parker having a nap while Nicky and Parker were making Pecan and Sugar pie for tomorrow's Thanksgiving meal.
November 23, 2016
It is the American Thanksgiving today.  Steve and I hung around the boat until noon. We then went for a drink at Duane and Donna to see their children Neil and Nicole  before heading to Nicky's.
Gpa tried to get his hair like Parker

And Nanna and Lyla did our nails

Brent is in Erie visiting his family while Nicky, Lyla, Parker, Steve  and I went for a great Thanksgiving meal at Meghan and Ryan's. It was nice to see Ava, Evan, Cindy, Gretchen, Luis, Mariana and Marcus.

We were so thankful to be invited to such great company. Evan, Parker, Lyla and Ava had their own table.

I really like Meghan and Ryan 's swinging chair.

Lyla came back as a tired little girl for a sleep over on the boat.

November 24, 2016
Lyla asked for pancakes this morning and that is exactly what I made.  We then went shopping to find some Black Friday deals.  After a couple of hours of tiring shopping, we dropped Lyla off at her house. Steve and Nicky put up lights in the backyard while Lyla was teaching me in her classroom.
Steve and I came back to the boat around 3pm.

November 26, 2016
Woke up this morning around 7am and noticed the sun rising behind the cloud.

After doing yoga, Steve and I cleaned the boat.  Nicky, Parker and Lyla came over for lunch.  We went to the water fountain park.

Steve then brought the kids for a dinghy ride while, Nicky went kayaking.

As Steve was approaching the boat, I could hear the kids yelling something. As they got closer, they said the police stopped Gpa because he was going to fast.  There is a restriction on speed due to the Manatees.  Parker said he was scared. After dinner, the kids rode their bikes around the marina and had a wonderful time.

Later the kids went back to the park.

Parker was so funny.  When he gets tired, he just lays down.

After the water park, the kids took a shower at the marina.

The kids played checkers with beet crackers.  So funny how they keep themselves entertained.

After dinner, we had a visit from Tina, Corey Annett and their two daughters from Fort Erie, Canada.  They are on vacation and are staying nearby.  It was nice seeing them.  Nicky went home after their visit while the kids had a sleep over.

November 27, 2016
After having pancakes this morning, Parker helped Gpa wipe the dishes while Lyla put the dishes away.  It was so cute to wash them.
We all went for a bike ride around the marina since Nicky dropped their bikes off yesterday.

Nicky dropped by shortly after lunch to pick up the kids to go see Tina and Corey at their resort.
When Steve and I arrived there around an hour later, the kids were in a hoola hoop contest.  Lyla was one of the winners.

Even Parker tried it out

They even had pool competition which the parents took part of

I took the kids for a walk on the beach and since they were covered in sand, they took a shower to clean themselves.

Thank you Tina and Corey for a wonderful afternoon and for the pizza dinner.

Nicky came back to the boat later to pick up the kids' bikes.  Poor Lyla wanted to sleep on the boat.  Of course, she has to go to school tomorrow.

November 15 to 21 2016- Spending time with the grand children in Florida

Looks like we are staying put until after Christmas.  We are now settled in our new home at
Riviera Beach City Marina in Riviera Beach Florida until after Christmas.

November 15, 2016
This place has all new facilities.

Back view sitting behind our boat.

View looking right side. There is a small beach where I can even bring my kayak.

Looking to the left from the back of our boat
Looking from the back of our boat.  They even give us a locker to use.

At 5:30 tonight, we will be surprising our grandchildren.  Steve and I are renting a vehicle so we will have the freedom to visit.
Our new set of wheels for a month.

We cleaned our GaYa inside and out.  She is back to normal.  Steve can read his book while I work on some of my crafts until we see Lyla and Parker.
5:30pm- we surprised Lyla and Parker with our visit. Brent prepared us a wonderful meal.  We were saying how funny for us to visit and then leave to go to our boat.  Normally, we would stay at their place during our visit in Florida.  At least we are here until Christmas. I always wanted to know what it would be like to live near my grand children. Great way to find out.  Nicky and Brent are planning many date nights.
Life is good!I finally got to try the Dragon Fruit straight from Nicky's tree.

Lyla is going to be a great teacher someday.

Parker had homework to do in his Batman outfit.

November 16, 2016
Steve was so happy after buying his surf caster fishing rod today.
Went over Duane and Donna 's for a wonderful dinner.  Their poor dog has to wear a cone in order to let an eye injury heal. It comes off on Monday.

November 17, 2016
Steve and I took the dinghy to Peanut Island in Riviera Beach right across from our marina.

Peanut Island is a 79-acre island at the mouth of the Lake Worth Inlet in Palm Beach County, Florida.  The island was created by dredging-related projects in 1918 which also created the inlet and the Port of Palm Beach.
Originally named Inlet Island, the island was renamed Peanut Island for a planned peanut oil-shipping operation which failed in 1946. A $13 million USD renovation on the island in 2005 resulted in Peanut Island Park including camp sites, a pier, and a manmade reef. The island also features a blast shelter built in secret for President John F. Kennedy shortly after his 1960 election. Kennedy often spent winters in nearby Palm Beach, Florida. The shelter is operated by the Palm Beach Maritime Museum and is open to visitors as an example of Cold War-era concerns for the president's safety

The water is so clear you can see the fish swimming under the bridge.

6:30pm- We went to see Parker play practice soccer.  So cute to see him

November 18, 2016
Steve woke up early and went beach fishing with Brent.  He was back at 10;00.  I did some sewing most of the day until we picked up Lyla and Parker at their school at 3;30pm.  We took them for ice cream before going to Meghan and Ryan's home for dinner (really good friend's of Nicky and Brent).. They are always kind enough to include us when we visit Florida.

November 19, 2016
Went to see Parker play his soccer game this morning.
Nicky and the kids came to the boat aftrewards.  Brent was in Naples selling his photography work all weekend.  We took the kids to a water fountain at the marina. They had fun.  We later all took turns and went for a ride in the dinghy around peanut island.  There was a small market in the marina  parking lot.  Nicky brought us lunch as well as we got a few things from the market.
Nicky left for home after we ate pizza for dinner while Lyla and Parker stayed overnight on the boat.  Parker thought it was so cool to be able to lay on the couch and watch cartoons in the boat.  He made himself quite comfortable while Lyla and I played "Fish" before going to bed. They were sleeping by 8:30pm. They slept together in the same bed.  So cute to see them cuddled up.

November 20, 2016
The kids were up by 6:30am.  We had to stop at Dunking Donuts for our ritual breakfast place.

Took the kids to the park, then took them home and had lunch.

Before leaving them late afternoon, Steve helped Lyla learn how to ride a two wheeler. Steve got his exercise in.
soon.
Got back the boat before dinner and relaxed.  There was music playing from the new restaurant which will open
November 21, 2016
Steve and I drove to Fort Lauderdale to Sailorman store. We weren't too impressed but we did get extra line for the boat and a used dry bag for our laundry.  Steve Baldwin bought one in Annapolis and showed us how useful they can be.
I started working on sewing new bags with old sail material for our folding bikes while Steve did some reading.  We later went to check out Riviera Beach before dinner.
It started off cool this morning but ended up hot by afternoon.
