March 9 & 10, 2017- Here we come Man O War

March 9, 2017
Happy Birthday to my daughters Natalie and Nicole.

8:15am- Steve and I left Hopetown today.  We will make our way to Marsh Harbor to provision.  For tonight we plan on anchoring at Man O War then make our way to Marsh Harbor for provisions.   After Marsh Harbor, we plan to head to Treasure Cay to meet my sister on the 13th.

Steve put out his fishing line and caught a small Jack.  Better than nothing.

9:30am- Arrived at our anchorage in Man O War.

Steve took out his dove tanks to do more bottom cleaning.  It is not easy to do.

I snorkelled beside the boat.  Steve pointed out a huge sand dollar.  I think it was still living so we didn't touch it.
We went on shore to a small local grocery store to pick up a few things we needed.  We will do the big grocery shopping in Marsh.
We then took the dinghy to a lookout area where people go to watch the sunset at the Man O War narrows. We decided to go back to the boat and have dinner.  We watched the sunset while sipping on our coffee.
What a gorgeous sunset.
Sat outside and played guitar while Steve tried to catch a fish.

9:00pm- Watch 2 more Soprano episodes.

March 10, 2017
What a wonderful day.  After breakfast, went for a walk on Man O War Cay.  We went in a area where it was private on the North end.  We saw a man painting a door and saw the place was for sale. Being curious, we approached him and inquired about the property.  To our surprise, we found out he was the owner of what we thought was a resort.  He had 4 cottages and the main house, along with a dock and beach.  The main house was at least 5000 square feet.  He was kind enough to show us his place and introduced us to his wife.  He made his money by owning beauty and hair dressing schools in Wisconsin.  Good thing I had a hat on.  By the way, if you have 5.5 million dollars, it is your.  It was valued at 7.5 millions but he is willing to let it go at 5.5.

This was one of the cabins on the property

Sue and John were very welcoming

11:00am- Came back to the boat and went snorkeling while Steve cleaned more of the boat bottom.  He then dove and would bring up Sea biscuits and Sand dollars.  It was so cool.  I left them on the back of the boat however the dinghy rope either cracked them or them into the sea.  I lost them all.  Guess we will have to dive another day.
Going up the main house

After showering and resting, we then went into town to buy a conch horn.  Can't be in the Bahamas without having one.  They are not easy to play.   Of course, we couldn't resist the ice cream shop and ended up eating coconut ice cream.  While eating ice cream, Terry and John walked up.  We were all surprised.  Funny how we don't run into them in Hope Harbor but we do in Man o War. They were only there for the day.
3:30pm-  We left Man O War and made it to Marsh Harbor.
6:30pm- Went to Snapper's for dinner and enjoyed fish and chip.  Beautiful full moon tonight. Seeing that it is Friday, Steve took me out.  I love Friday's.
