Happy Birthday to my grand daughter who just turned 7. How time flies. Today was an adventure day. Steve and I walked around Elbow Cay and discovered new areas. In fact, at one point we got disoriented so we stopped to ask a gentleman our way back to Hopetown. We walked for 2 hours however we loved it. It seems no matter where you go, the scene is spectacular. There is a lot of old coral in parts of the beach so you have to make sure to wear shoes otherwise you could cut yourself on the sharp edges.
Once we got back to our dinghy, we then drove it out the cay to look at a schooner who came in for the afternoon. As we approached, no one was aboard except a barking dog.

Once we got back to our dinghy, we then drove it out the cay to look at a schooner who came in for the afternoon. As we approached, no one was aboard except a barking dog.
9:30am- Went outside the harbor to make water while the tides where high. It is actually relaxing to be anchored and waiting for the tides to come back up.

1:30pm- Came back on our mooring and also watched this Bahama sailboat come back from a race. Look at all the people on this boat.
1:45- I went kayaking and noticed all kinds of different fishes along a sunken sailboat. Forgot my camera.
3:30pm- Went for an ice cream in town and then for a walk on the beach. It is sure hot today but there is a nice breeze along the water. After dinner, we sat out and gazed at the stars while I serenaded Steve playing the guitar. Not sure if that is what he would call it.
Seeing that we did not have wifi and no more data to spare, we later watched a couple of Soprano episodes on DVD.

After breakfast , I did a little kayaking and then we anchored outside the harbor. Steve cleaned 3/4 of the bottom of the boat. He will have to go down with his diving gear next time he does it. Froggy's in Hopetown charges $3.50 per foot to clean it if it is not too bad and $4.50/ ft if it is bad. We were going to hire someone but Steve didn't mind doing it. I snorkeled while watching him. The water was warm.
Seeing that our Wi-Fi password expired and after all that work, we went for a drink at Hopetown Marina. When you sit down to eat or drink, they give you the new Wi-Fi password for the week. We then played bean bag. I won't say who won.
Earlier, Steve dropped off 2 propane tanks to get filled and we went to see if it was done. Seeing that they weren't filled, we decided to go for a walk on the beach. It was wonderful. I will never refuse a walk on the beach.
After dinner, we relaxed outside the boat until I actually got a mosquito bite. It was my first in the Bahamas. Steve figured probably because there was absolutely no wind. I guess it is the calm before the cold front hits us in a couple of days.
We watched Homeland inside the boat tonight.

Happy Friday. Woke up to rain this morning. It rained really heavy so Steve collected water.
9:15am - When the rain stopped, we went to the local coffee shop for cappuccino and a raspberry coconut muffin. We then went for a nice walk along the beach. It was windy. There is a cold front coming.
12:00pm- Had a light lunch and then Steve read while I painted and practiced guitar..
3:00pm- Went to the marina for a drink and talked to a couple who just arrived yesterday. It is getting a little cooler.
6:00pm- Met up with Terry and John and had dinner out at Harbor Lodge. Poor Terry just got over a bad bug which kept them quarantined on their boat for almost a week.
8:30pm- Steve put an extra line on the mooring since the winds are picking up. It is warm in the boat. Watched a couple of Soprano episodes since we did not have Wi-Fi.

It is rocking and rolling.
Didn't stop us for going for a walk on the windy beach. We found another area of the beach to explore. We were getting sandblasted on some parts of the beach.
We managed to find a path back to the boat rather walking back on the beach.
We found a new place to eat right on the beach.
Seeing that we still do not have Wi-Fi, we went and topped up our Bahamian data at a local store. I really have to watch the amount of data I use. Unfortunately, no Face Time , Tango or Skyping until we get Wi-Fi.
After lunch, I prepared a few meals for the next couple of days since it was cool enough to use the oven.
Steve read, napped, read, napped.....outside the boat.
After dinner we went to Hopetown Lighthouse bar where a young girl played guitar and sang. She was a good guitar player.
7:30- came back to the boat to watch a couple of episodes of Homeland seeing that we got the new Wi-Fi password. After half way thru the second episode, the Wi-Fi died. The boat is spinning around so much due to the high winds so I think Wi-Fi is on and off because of it.

7:30am- Looks like we are going to stay here until Wednesday due to high winds. We are hoping to leave Thursday. The high today will be 74 and low is 64. At least the sun is out. We sure rock and roll on the boat. It is hard to do my balance exercises without falling.
French toast this morning....
10:30am- As we were getting ready to get on our dinghy, we noticed a sailboat which ran aground near some docks. Steve went over to help however the guy was wanting for the tides to come up to pull himself out. His mooring line broke with all this wind.
By the time we picked up our filled propane tanks and went for a walk on the beach, the Torontonian boat was back on his mooring. It is nice to see when there is no damage done.
Relaxed on the boat all evening and listened to the wind. Watch 3 episodes of Homeland. We take advantage when there is Wi-Fi.
