December 2-22, 2017 Here we come Canada

December 21, 2016
Today is the day.  We are all driving back to Canada for a week.  It will sure be a hectic time but well worth seeing the family.  I have to keep my stress level in check

December 22, 2016
We are back in Canada.  We rented a van and left at 3pm yesterday and arrived today at 11:30am.  When we dropped the kids off in Erie, the grand children were thrilled to run around the snow and do a snow angel.  They were so excited.

Our palm tree is up and all decorated.  We are getting ready to receive everyone on Christmas Day.  I won't be blogging until we return to our boat on the 30th and then head out to the Bahamas.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all my blogger fans.  Come back in the New Year.

December 20,2016 - Prep for home

December 20, 2016
Preparing to go home to the cold for a week.  Hard to psych yourself when it is so hot here. It will be a quick trip but will be nice to be reunited with family and friends.
Yesterday, we placed the dinghy and kayak in back of the boat in preparation for the Bahamas upon return.

12:00pm-  Brent and Steve picked up the van so we can start packing.
3:00pm-  Picked up the grandchildren from school early and brought them to their place.  They just love it when they come home early so that they can unwind before dinner.  I did a couple of loads of wash before Nicky and Brent came home.
I received my. New SIM card  and new phone number for when I am in the Bahamas. Apparently, you activate it once you arrive there.
I gave Parker his bath before heading back to the boat around 7:30pm.

December 18, 2016 - Memory of Dad

December 18, 2016
Woke up this morning thinking of my dad who passed away a year ago today.

7:30am- Nicky and I dropped the kids off at their house and left them with Brent and Steve.  The kids were anxious to see where Elf moved this morning however he stayed in the same spot.  I think Elf was scared to move since Brent and Gpa were having their own little party last night after we left.
Nicky and I went to the beach and she gave me a private yoga session.  It was so nice and then we went for a nice hearty breakfast. It was nice spending some alone time with her.
9:30am- Dropped Nicky off and picked up Steve.  I did some painting while Steve relaxed on the boat.
3:00pm- Went to Riviera Beach and actually went swimming in the ocean. The water was so warm.

5:00- Showered and then had a great dinner.
Another great day.

December 14-17, 2016 Fun time before the Holidays

December 14, 2016

5:00am-   That is right 5am wake up.  I had to bring Steve over Brent 's since they were going fishing all day.

I stayed at the house until the kids and Nicky left. It was so funny because Lyla and Parker's elf was fishing in Lyla's aquarium this morning.

I then went for a long walk on the beach. In fact, I had the whole beach to myself.
I then went to the boat to sort out my clothes.  I am bringing half of it back home when we go to Canada for Christmas.
I did some sewing and then shopping.
5:15pm- I picked up Steve.  They caught many tuna fish.

On the way home, we stopped at Whole Foods for supper.  Came back to the boat and relaxed.

December 15, 2016
6:00am- For some reason I got up early and decided to go do yoga on the beach before Steve wakes up. What a gorgeous morning.

8:00am- By the time I came back, Steve already had the coffee brewing.
Afterwards, we washed the boat inside and out.
10:30am- We renewed our lease on the car until Tuesday.
Steve purchased a diving tank in case he has to look under the boat in the Bahamas.  I decided not to get one since I will probably do more snorkeling since the water is only 10 ft in the Bahamas.  Can't wait.

We later went sandal shopping and came back to the boat and had a wonderful dinner.

December 16, 2016                                                                 9:00am- Met Nicky and Brent at Lyla's school for her Christmas concert. It was so cute to watch the grade one perform.

We stopped at Walmart to pick up batteries for the flashlights and then while Steve read, I painted some cards. I am having fun being creative.

6:00pm-went to City Place in West Palm Beach for dinner at Bellagio with John and Terry from Primera Vista boat on a 43ft Beneteau at the marina.  They are preparing their boat for the Bahamas.  We had a great time getting to know them.  Actually, at 7:00pm and 8:00pm. the "Let It Snow" song played while snow fell around us.  It was so exciting.  I didn't mind sitting outside in the warm weather while it snowed.

Selfie of Terry and I in front of the Christmas tree

Steve with John

Having a wonderful time with Terry and John from Halifax.

9:30pm- we were back at the boat and relaxed before going to bed.  Such a great day.

December 17, 2016
Woke up around 7:30am and had our breakfast waiting anxiously for Brent and Nicky to drop off the grand children
9:30am-  The grandchildren arrived and  didn't waste time riding their bikes and roller blading while Nicky and Brent went back home.
We then painted owls on a canvas which Terry (our new boat neighbour bought for them.  It was so cute.

3:30pm- After ther kids had a nap, we went to Brent and Nicky's were they had friends over for dinner.
Nicky even made Rice Krispies squares.
Ava, Lyla,Parker and Evan in Lyla's play room.

Brent, Ryan and Meghan

It was so cute to see Parker and Gpa interact

Brent and Steve wanted to party more, so Nicky and I took the kids to the boat for the night.  It was a nice evening.

December 10-13,2016 -Fun with Lyla and Parker

After having our coffee, we went for a walk at Riviera beach.

We then ate at a bagel shop right on the beach strip.

There was a beach store there and I purchased a couple of tops which were on sale.
Relaxed on the boat afterwards until Brent, Nicky and the kids showed up.  It was date night for Brent and Nicky.

Parker and Gpa had a long nap.  Parker wanted to sleep in Gpa's room however on the floor

Later Gpa and Lyla did some drawings until Parker woke up

When Parker woke up, we painted cards together with Lyla and I.

When fisherman came in late afternoon, we watched them unload all their fish.  They were kind enough to give us Mahi Mahi and king fish.  Brent will cook us a feast one day.
Good thing I brought my tuque and coat to keep Lyla warm.  On this rainy day, she felt cold. Wait until we go to Canada for the Holidays.
Later we walked around the marina and Parker liked the Christmas light on the sailboat.

We watched a movie on polar bears, had treats and then off to bed.  Nanna had to sleep with them for awhile since the winds made a lot of odd creaking noises on the boat.

December 11, 2016
We all had a great sleep last night with the wind howling and the rain falling on the boat.  The kids didn't get up until 7:00am. They sure like playing in the bed at the bow.

After we cooked up eggs and bacon for breakfast, the kids didn't waste time to start painting and drawing.  We had some great projects since it was raining.

They liked to shake the paint before starting.

After lunch, the rain cleared up long enough for the kids to run outside and play wrestling.  I laugh so hard watching them.

Noticed the GaYa crew T-shirt they are wearing.

Later, Lyla said she was Santa Claus as she was holding the garbage bags and singing "ho-ho-ho"

Parker was acting silly and was trying to make me laugh.

After a nap, we took them back home and we all had dinner with them along with some of their friends.  It is so nice to live close enough to visit them.
Before leaving, Lyla had to make sure to do Gpa's toe nails.

December 12, 2016
While I went to do some shopping, Steve changed the Primary and secondary fuel filter.
12:00pm- Nicky called me asking whether Steve and I could meet her at the house since Lyla wasn't feeling good and she would drop her off at the house.  I did a couple of load of laundry while Lyla was sleeping. Steve managed to finish another book.
Brent came home after 4pm and smoked some of the fish we brought the other day.

Nicky made a wonderful stew and we had some nice crusty bread.  Steve and I were back at the boat around 8;15pm.

December 13, 2016
I did a little sewing today while Steve went to fill one of our propane tanks.  Steve was going fishing with Brent so I got him a cedar plug for a lure as an early anniversary gift.  Our anniversary is on Christmas Day.
2:00pm- Bent met Steve at his house after work while went to pick up the kids early from school.  I took the to Office Depot and the library.
6:00pm- Steve and Brent came home with a tuna.  Brent seared it and we had it for dinner.

The kids were having fun with the tuna.  Nicky and Brent were relaxing while Brent prepared the feast.
We were back at the boat by 8:00pm.

December 6-9, 2016 Spending time with Lyla and Parker

December 6, 2016
It was 82 degrees and humid early this morning, so Steve and I decided to go to the beach.
While Steve fished, I sat in a chair dipping my feet in the ocean.  SO nice.

We saw a huge sailboat in the distance.

Noticed the bird in this photo.  Who do you think was the better fisherman today?
12:00- We went out for lunch.
1:30pm- Steve met up with Duane while I did a little sewing.
5:30pm- I dropped Steve off at Nicky and Brent place while I met Nicky for a yoga session with her yoga teacher.  I couldn't believe I managed to do 1.5 of yoga and meditation.  It sure felt good.  Steve and Brent stayed home with the kids.  Nicky and I rushed home after classes knowing there was a roast waiting for us.  We were starving.

December 7, 2016
This morning, Steve and I went out shopping.  Trying to get some Christmas shopping done.  Steve was so happy to pick up the fishing rod which I purchased for him as a combo Christmas and Anniversary gift.  Now I know he can't wait to fish off our boat in the Bahamas.

In the afternoon, while he oiled our bikes and cleaned them up, I did some sewing.
6:00- A couple from Montreal, which we met at the marina, came over for drinks and hors D'Oeuvres.  They had an unfortunate situation where they need to get a new engine in their boat.  They may not be able to go to the Bahamas for probably a month before it is resolved.
After dinner, Steve and I finished watching the episode in the series "The Crown".  There were 10 episodes.

Woke up this morning with sailfish fisherman getting ready to head out.  There is a big fishing tournament this weekend.  Today they were each bringing out a veteran.

John Hanrahan and Terry Finnigan from Halifax on the Primera Vista (Beneteau 43) who are also staying at the marina came over for a visit on our boat.  When I found out that John played guitar and ukulele, I brought mine out and he started playing them.  We will have them over another night and jam.  Yeah!
2:30pm- While I picked up Lyla and Parker from school early, Steve and Brent went fishing. They caught a Mahi Mahi.
I brought the kids to the library. They just loved it.  I got a library card in order for them to take books home.
Huge Christmas tree across the library

Parker liked all the super hero books

Parker and Lyla taking out their first library books

Of course we stopped for ice cream before heading home.
Blue moon ice cream for Parker

Chocolate Cashew Ice cream for Lyla

We all went to Mulligan's restaurant for dinner.  Steve and I were back at the boat at 9pm

December 9, 2016
So proud of my grand daughter Lyla who received an honor award for art and she also received a gold medal for making the honor roll.

I did a little sewing in the morning.
1:00pm- we went grocery shopping with a couple who are also staying at the marina.  They do not have a car, so we thought we would ask them to come with us.  There names are Andree and George Paquettes on the Out'n About.
5:00pm- went on Andree and Georges' boat for hors D'Oeuvres. It was wasn't evening.  We were back at the boat around 7:30pm and we're definitely not hungry because of the great hors D'Oeuvres. Later we just munched on junk food.
