Leaving is bitter sweet & Lots to Prep

Leaving is bitter sweet
The hardest part of this journey is saying goodbye to family and friends since we are not sure when we will see them again.  Had dinner with my girlfriend Brenda on Monday.
We went out to dinner with my mother-in-law and mother on Tuesday August 23, 2016

Saturday, August 27, 2016 Sue, Gunter, Kim, Don, Bill and Julie took us out to dinner in Vineland.

Sunday, August 28, 2016, my sister Diane and Tom came by with lunch as we anchored.  Then we went for a beautiful sail.  It was hard saying goodbye.

Sunday August 28, 2016  Just realizing  having ice cream at Fifty Point is coming to an end.

Guess they will have to come and join us in the Carribean.

Spent the day with Pauline on Tuesday August 30, 2016 and had dinner with Ashley & Tom August 31, 2016. So many goodbyes.
Thursday September 1,2016..Had coffee with my good friend Chris Doyle at Station 1
Time is ticking, our tenant moved in our home yesterday, and still people to say goodbye to before we leave early Tuesday.  Basically only our clothes to pack and a few hobby stuff to sneak in.  (Don't tell Steve).  Our mail has been forwarded, insurance papers all in order, automobiles serviced, flower bed all prepped for Fall, my mother-in-law is taking care of my favorite houseplant and Wills all updated(ha-ha).  As you can see, the stress level has been high but we know once we sail off, it will revive us.

Friday September 2,2016 ....Said goodbye to my Neighbour Tracey and her twins.  SO cute!
Lindsey on the left and Lauren on the right..

September 3, 2016- our neighbours Kristen and Jeff had us over for drinks.September 4,2016- Saying goodbye to Morgan, Lincoln, Esme and Zera.  So sad when Morgan says:" Don't forget about me as we kissed he goodnight."  They just melted our hearts.

LOTS TO PREP

Time is ticking as we plan to leave around Labor Day.  Lots to do.  We placed the dinghy motor on Gaya's motor rack.  Steve washed the dinghy while I did the final alterations to the dinghy cover to fit while it I a hanging from the davits. Good thing we have been preparing for this journey for a couple of years now.
Food prep:  I removed all canned food's labels and labeled the top with magic markers.  We purchased clear plastic bins to fit in the boat bilge.  I did an excel spreadsheet to document our stock. It will surely be a different way of cooking since we do not have a microwave on the boat.
